On Tour 10/02/24-10/30/24 “Before We Move On” by Sally Reiser Simon

Release Date: June 4, 2024

About The Book:

The year is 1998 and fourteen-year-old Jesse Newsome has been living with a guardian in upstate NY since his parents were killed in a car accident. Just when he’s adjusted to his new home, Jesse is involved in an ill-fated prank that ends in the death of Kiki Lewis, the girl who’d brought a smile back to his face. Life returns to normal for those around him, but Jesse remains haunted by Kiki’s memory, unable to let go.

Kiki doesn’t realize she’s dead until she sees herself at her own funeral. As a ghost she struggles to communicate with her mother and searches for the key to crossing over. In her desperation, she reaches out to Jesse for help. Can their two disparate worlds reconnect? Together, will they uncover the secret to moving on?

About The Author:

Sally Reiser Simon was born in a small town in New Jersey, where she would hop on her bike to go exploring. As an adult, she has landed in an even smaller town in upstate New York, one full of trees, mountains, and even bears. Not a bad place for a writer to hang her hat.

She spent the bulk of her adult life teaching students from ages six to twelve, mostly reading and writing. An active member of several community theater groups, Sally has stage managed, directed, and acted. She was also the drama coach at the middle school where she taught.

When not writing, she’s probably traveling (she has visited all seven continents) or stabbing her friends on the fencing strip.

Her short fiction and CNF has been published in various literary magazines. Before We Move On is Sally’s debut novel. https://sallysimonwriter.com/

Book Blurbs:

“In this intriguing novel, the author has created a world in which the earthbound and the spiritual world live side by side, with a twelve-year-old heroine who’s on a quest to find peace in the afterlife. I found myself rooting for her and turning the pages as she figures out how to best say goodbye to the people she loves–and they find a way to let her go.”   Gabi Coatsworth, author of A Beginner’s Guide to Starting Over
